The Board of Aldermen issued a Proclamation at its June 7th meeting to honor the extraordinary contributions of long-time resident Dennis Whitmore for his more than 40 years of service to Twin Oaks.

Mr. Whitmore was first elected to the Board of Trustees in 1982. Since that time, he has served as Trustee, Chairman, Alderman, and President of the Board of Aldermen. In his decades long career in public services, he has played an instrumental role in planning the expansion of commercial development needed to support the City's services to residents of Twin Oaks.

Early in his career, Mr. Whitmore envisioned a park in an area commonly used for celebratory bonfires, and he then worked tirelessly along with other residents to design and build the park known today as Twin Oaks Park, which is widely recognized as one of St. Louis County's "hidden gems."

His contributions over the last four decades have helped establish Twin Oaks as an exceptional place to live, work, learn, and raise a family. Please join us in congratulating Dennis for his service and wishing him well as he begins another term as Alderman,
