Meramec Station and Big Bend Intersection Undergoing Safety Review

In response to concerns raised by residents from Twin Oaks and surrounding communities, St. Louis County is currently conducting a review of the safety and signalization of the Meramec Station Road and Big Bend Road intersection.

The City shares the concerns many residents have over the safety of this intersection. On April 15th, representatives from Twin Oaks and surrounding communities attended a virtual meeting with Councilman Tim Fitch and staff from the County streets department to discuss the issue.

As a result of that meeting, St. Louis County is currently in the processing of creating several traffic models for the intersection that will analyze various signal configurations and their impact on traffic flow and accident potential. The County expects to have this analysis completed by May 18th, at which point they will report their findings.

For questions and additional information or to share your experience with safety issues at the intersection, please contact the St. Louis County Streets Department at 314-615-5184.
